To see a
litter of kittens grow up is an
experience and extremely educational.
Every moment and every move they
make is somehow magical.
And although I have had litters before,
it's just as amazing every time I get
to follow a kitten's development and step forward in life ..
Our kittens live
and grow in our home in
a normal environment and are used to usual things
that happens in a home.
If you have
visited our homepage earlier
you have probably already looked at photos
from our first litters at their own photo pages.
Maybe you also have visited every litters photo diary
written in Swedish.
Thats the place for everyday photos and
some stories from the kittens "adventures" during
their first 12 weeks.
I hope that gives you a small idea about how the kittens
are raised here by us. I'm sorry that I haven't translated
the kitten diarys into English but I hope you can enjoy the photos.
Planning
a cute litter of kittens is hard work
and nothing done without a lot of time and brainstorming.
When I start planning for a litter I spend a lot of time
looking for the right combination. I
often talk with friends and work a lot by my computer.
The time spent before the actuall mating can be
a year but often a lot longer than that.
Often the
plans have to be changed and you
just have to change direction and go to plan B if
there is one.
In the end there hopefully will be two cats
meeting for some cat love.
When all
the plans are made and the time is
right for mating we always test our cats for HCM.
Both parents to the expected litter have to be tested
and this is very important to us.
We always test our cats that we use in our breeding
and we do so every year.
The cats are also tested for FIV and FeLV and
are also dewormed before mating.
Our cats
and their kittens pedigrees will always be found
at Pawpeds,
wich is a great tool for us as a breeder but
also for everyone, interested in their cat.
